Workplace
Ford established a prominent presence in Michigan Central Station by creating a technology and mobility hub that connects their historic Dearborn base with the vibrant future of Detroit. I had the rare opportunity to define the strategic direction for three floors of the station, shaping Ford’s approach to engaging with this unique community. This transformative project aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and employee retention, with one floor dedicated to an open collaborative environment and the remaining floors as assigned workspaces.
In my role as lead designer, I developed a comprehensive project plan and guided three mid-level staff members through a design thinking process. The thoroughness of my strategy and design was noted by Ford Land CEO Jim Dobleske, who described it as the most successful design package our company had produced to date, facilitating seamless integration for the AOR to create the construction drawings.
Ford MCS is currently in the construction administration phase, with substantial completion slated for October 2024.
